What Trail Book is, what it is not, and what you agree to by using it.
Who runs this site
Trail Book is an independent guide to running races in Greece, mountain races first. It is made and run by one trail runner, who is responsible for the site; for anything on this page, write to the address below.

Not affiliated with the organisers
Trail Book is not organised by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any race organiser, federation, or sponsor. Race names, logos and dates appear only to identify the events.
Registration, fees, results and every decision about a race belong to its organiser. Trail Book never registers anyone and never handles entry fees.
If you organise a race listed here and want something corrected, added, or taken down, including a course track, write to the contact above. Requests are handled promptly and without argument.
The information is indicative
Race data is gathered by hand from the organisers' own announcements, regulations and published files. Anything marked as estimated is projected from previous editions and has not been confirmed for the coming one.
Dates, distances, cut-offs, aid stations, fees and conditions change, sometimes days before a race. The organiser's announcement always takes precedence over what you read here. Confirm with the organiser before you register or book travel.
Trip costs, weather figures and travel times are estimates meant for orientation, not quotes.
Mountain running is at your own risk
Course maps, elevation profiles, water points and weather panels are there to help you plan. They are not a navigation product and they are not a safety guarantee. Trails change, water sources dry up, markings move and weather in the Greek mountains turns fast.
You take part in any race, training run or hike at your own risk and responsibility. Follow the organiser's rules and mandatory-equipment list, check the current conditions yourself, and do not rely on a track from this site as your only means of navigation.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Trail Book is provided as is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness or availability, and is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the site or of the information on it, including a missed registration, a wasted trip or an incident on a course.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Greek law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.
Intellectual property and what you may do
The code, the texts, the design and the compiled race database of Trail Book belong to its operator and are protected by copyright and by the database right. The photographs the operator took are theirs as well.
Course tracks come from files the organisers publish, or are shown with the organiser's permission, and remain the organisers' property. Photographs that are not the operator's come from Wikimedia Commons under open licences; every one is listed in the Gallery with its author, licence and source.
You may browse the site and use its information for your own, personal purposes, including loading a course track onto your own device for a race. You may not copy the database, scrape or bulk-download its contents, or republish tracks, texts or photographs without permission from their respective owners.
Maps, elevation and weather
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Map style © OpenTopoMap, under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 licence. Elevation comes from the organisers' files or from SRTM and EU-DEM terrain models. Weather figures come from Open-Meteo, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.
Links to other sites
The site links to organisers' pages, registration platforms, accommodation searches on Booking.com and other third-party sites. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and Trail Book is not responsible for their content or their services.
Accommodation links currently earn Trail Book nothing. If that ever changes, the link itself and this section will say so clearly.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by Greek law. Disputes fall under the courts of Athens, without prejudice to any rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the site grows. The date at the top of the page shows the current version; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
