A loop through the oak forests and ravines around Vavdos, the mountain village called the balcony of Chalkidiki. The 21K Challenge drops from the village into three wild ravines, crosses an ancient path the organisers cleared by hand and climbs back through shady oak woods. The sting is at the end: the steep Dasologos path to the chapel of Profitis Ilias at 950 m, with Kassandra, Sithonia, Olympus and Athos all around. A 12K on forest roads and a 6K that walkers can do too start from the same school yard.
