Vamvakou Mountain Run
Out of a stone village on Parnon that the Stavros Niarchos Foundation is bringing back to life, and up through fir and black pine. The 29 km climbs to the Arnomousga plateau and on to 1,676 m, loops back past the mountain refuge and drops 590 m in the last seven kilometres to the square: about 1,350 m of climbing. A 19 km and a 7 km share the start, and free buses bring runners up from Athens and Kalamata on race morning.
