Retzakas Trail Run

A winter trail through seven villages of Inachori, the hill country above Elafonisi in the far south-west of Crete. The 24.7K climbs from the old school at Plokamiana to the Retzakas waterfall, runs the stone lanes of Tzitzifia, Perivolia and Kefali, and tops out at 709 m under the ancient olive tree of Aerino. It comes home by Pappadiana and Vathi, through old olive groves, strawberry-tree woods, springs and chapels. The 6.8K takes in the waterfall.
