Olympus Marathon
You start at ancient Dion and climb almost without a break for 22 km, from sea level to 2,780 m. The high point sits under the sheer rock of the Throne of Zeus, and the view from up there takes your breath away. Then comes a long technical descent on broken rock to Prionia. The Enipeas gorge and one last climb through the forest bring you to Litochoro. 44 km and 3,350 m of climbing in all.
