Forty kilometres out of the square at Agia and onto the summit of Kissavos, Profitis Ilias at 1,978 m, just past halfway. The old paths that once joined the villages under the mountain climb 1,200 m in the first 8 km, cross the high meadows and make a last 600 m push to an alpine top with the Aegean on one side, the Thessalian plain on the other and Olympus across the Tempe gap. Then a steep way down through Anatoli and Metaxochori back to the square. The 21 km and 12 km keep to the lower paths.
