The Karpenissi Trail is a mountain race in the heart of Evrytania: 26 km and 1,860 m of climbing from Megalo Chorio onto the ridges of Kaliakouda. You climb 1,170 m in 6 km, out of the firs to the ridge below the summit. Then comes the loose Mega Isoma ridge and the steepest descent of the race, at 39%. You drop to Aniada, climb again to Pinakakia and from there plunge 820 m to the village.
