Irakleios Athlos

Micha-Tsapournia, AchaeaOpen in Maps Sunday, 4 October 2026

The Irakleios Athlos runs on Erymanthos, the mountain of Heracles' fourth labour, and it is a labour in its own right: 20 km with 1,850 m of climbing. The climb that decides the race gains 790 m in 3 km, at up to 39%, from the forest to bare alpine meadow. At 1,830 m you cross the saddle between Olenos and Mougila, the mountain's two highest summits. Then you cross a scree slope where the organisers fix a rope, and the last descent drops 590 m to Micha.

Distance and climb as the organiser publishes them. sourceThe rules give 20 km, +1,850 m. The course page says 21 km and +1,880 m, ITRA measures 19.83 km and +1,640 m, and the GPX they publish 19.46 km. The GPX is the sweeper's recording and stops 352 m before the start, so the last bit of the loop is missing from the map and the profile.
