Kokkinopilos, ElassonaOpen in Maps Sunday, 11 July 2027

The Faethon SkyRace climbs the quiet western side of Olympus from the Vlach village of Kokkinopilos: more than 1,500 m of climbing in the first twelve kilometres to Hotza, at 2,580 m, then along the bare alpine ridge past the gate at Diaselo Kardara, and a final plunge of almost 1,300 m in the last six kilometres to the village square. The 14 km Trail follows the old trading path towards Petra through the village woods, past three springs. The race is run in memory of Apostolos Tsourekas.
