Elafi Parnithas Trail

The Elafi ("deer") takes its name from the red deer of Parnitha, the mountain above Athens. The 22 km is almost all trail through the fir forest. You climb 670 m, steeply, to 1,214 m near the Mola fire lookout, then run from spring to spring to the chapel of Agios Petros. A 28% descent and one last climb bring you back to Ippokrateios Politeia. With luck you will see deer among the firs.
