Pella → ThessalonikiOpen in Maps Sunday, 4 April 2027 road

A marathon from the birthplace of Alexander the Great to his statue on the Thessaloniki seafront. It starts on the square of Pella, the capital of ancient Macedon, and runs east on one long, flat road across the plain, over the Axios river and into the city. The finish is by the Thermaic Gulf, with Olympus across the water on a clear day. It is the biggest race weekend in northern Greece: 16,500 runners from 72 countries took part in 2026.
