A mountain race above Lake Evinos, from the stone village of Neochori in mountainous Nafpaktia. The 26K climbs about 660 m through the forest to a crossroads at 1,350 m, runs a quiet forest road and makes a steep push to the top of Fonias at 1,550 m, with the lake far below. Then comes the plunge: almost 600 m down to the village square in three kilometres, at up to 27%. Just when the square looks like the finish, the course drops again to the turquoise water, runs along the shore and climbs back to the square. The 12K turns at the crossroads, and the 6K is the lake loop alone.
