Arakynthos Trail Run

The Arakynthos Trail Run is a 13 km afternoon loop through the chestnut forest above Ano Kerasovo, on the eve of the village’s chestnut festival. It climbs 300 m through chestnut and oak to 812 m, opens onto Lake Trichonida, the largest natural lake in Greece, and comes home through the chestnuts as the sun goes down. At the finish there is hot chestnut soup and roast chestnuts on the square, and rebetiko into the night.
